Ad Roundup: Violent pandas and washed up lounge singers

September 14, 2012 by Christopher Newgent

This week, Pivot hosted a studio tour for AIGA's Indy chapter. We had the projector out to display our latest work, and got inspired to watch some great advertising on the big screen. Here are a few of our favorites:

Jenn melts for the Kayak Hotel Crooner.
Ad agency BFG9000 and director Harold Einstein banked on the rich voice of a washed up lounge singer in this hilarious spot for Kayak.

Kate loves cats, especially talking ones.
If there's one thing the Internet loves, it's cats. And Draftfcb Chicago used that to their advantage in this commercial for the Shelter Pet Project.

Christopher never says no to a panda.
In this series of commercials by Elephant Cairo, a brutish panda makes you think twice about declining Panda Cheese.

Eric relives his childhood with Ragu.
Another spot from BFG9000, this one for Ragu, in which a child has a rough night at a sleepover.

Union lives his life like John Clayton.
Wieden + Kennedy pinned the ponytail on the head with a "behind-the-scenes" look at sports caster John Clayton's life for ESPN.

Melissa loves her craft beer.
Ad agency Fallon upset some home brewers and craft beer enthusiasts with this commercial for Buffalo Wild Wings. But Melissa, an enthusiast herself, got a good laugh from it.

Feel free to share your favorites in the comments.
